The Myth of Cruelty-Free Mink Lashes

Are mink lashes REALLY cruelty-free?

Many mink lash brands have been making this claim for years.
We're not convinced.

Minks are naturally territorial, solitary semi-aquatic animals.

Many mink lash companies claim to use naturally shed hairs from live minks to create their lashes.

While there may be some truth in saying the minks are not killed for lashes, it is likely that these minks are still kept captive at fur farms in tiny cages until they are ultimately killed and skinned for other fur products.

As for claims of sourcing fur from free-range mink farms, we had trouble finding any real sources of their existence.

On top of this, the idea promoted by some companies that minks are "gently brushed" for their fur is something extremely unlikely for creatures as solitary and territorial as minks.

This leaves the claim of cruelty-free mink lashes at best, a half-truth, or worse, deceptive marketing.

To prove our argument even further, some mink lash brands have even recently stopped citing their mink lashes as "cruelty-free".

We believe we can do better.

Our mission here at Aether Lashes, is to not only provide the most lifelike, cutting-edge synthetic fur-free and genuinely 100% cruelty-free lashes, but to also raise awareness about the truth of so-called "cruelty-free" mink fur.

Aether Lashes is proud to donate a portion of the proceeds from every sale in support of fur-bearing animals, such as minks.
